The MG B Roadster epitomizes the classic British sports car, especially when presented in canonical British Racing Green over tan like this example. Reportedly ordered new in 1976 for the British ambassador to the US, the car is the beneficiary of recent service and a respray in factory British Racing Green. Modifications appear to be limited to backdating the car to 1974 specifications, a trunk-mounted luggage rack, and a Sony audio unit with JBL speakers. The dual-carbureted 1.8L four-cylinder engine and 4-speed manual transmission combine to create an engaging driving experience. With a storied history, period-correct modifications, and new paint, this MG B will take its next owner both down the road and back in time.

Per the selling dealer, this MG B was special ordered for Peter Ramsbothom, the British ambassador to the US in 1976. A Royal envelope and supporting documentation are included. It is believed the second owner backdated the car to 1974 specification, including chrome bumpers, chrome grille, and twin SU carburetors with aftermarket air filters. The selling dealer commissioned a respray in factory British Racing Green in September 2022. In addition to ownership documentation, the tonneau cover, top boot, owner’s manuals, jack, tools, spare tire, and two keys are included.
The MG B was launched in 1962 and utilized a modern unibody chassis design. This chassis incorporated one of the first uses of crumple-zones designed to offer greater passenger crash protection. Power was provided by a carbureted 1.8L inline-four-cylinder engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Braking was supplied via front disc brakes with dual-piston calipers and rear drums. Series production ended in 1980.
