Seller Information

Vehicle History & Overview

This Austin Healey Sprite was reportedly inherited by the prior owner approximately six years ago. Subsequently a multi-year refurbishment was carried out, with receipts totaling more than $15,000 shown below in the Servicing & Documentation section. Modifications include enlarging the engine to 1,275cc plus an upgraded carburetor and air-cleaner assembly. The spare tire, jack, and two keys are included.

The original Austin Healey Sprite was launched in 1958, with the Mark III featured here arriving in 1964. Although exterior differences are few, the engine featured a stronger block casting and larger crankshaft main bearings. Better ride quality was the result of new semi-elliptic leaf springs, which also provided additional axle location. Exterior changes included a new curved-glass windshield, hinged quarter-glass, wind-up windows, and exterior door handles with door locks. Series production of the Mark III ended in 1966.
