Seller Information

Vehicle History & Overview

Per the included accident-free Carfax report this SL500 was sold to its first Florida-based owner in September 1999. The car remained in Florida until the reportedly third owner moved the car to Arkansas in 2009. The selling dealer bought the car from the Arkansas-based fourth owner in April 2022 and has added approximately 2,400 of the 43,900 miles shown. Options such as the AMG Styling Kit and AMG wheels increase the desirability of this unmodified example. The owner’s manuals, two keys, color-matched hardtop with stand, first-aid kit, wind deflector, and service records are included.

Mercedes-Benz launched the R129-chassis SL-class in 1989. Classic long-hood, short-deck styling was accentuated with a low, wide stance that gave the car massive road presence. Performance matched the good looks thanks to a variety of powerful engines, the most common of which is the 5.0L V8 featured on this example. Smooth-shifting automatic transmissions were the most common and were paired with a solid yet sporting chassis to create superb road-manners. Production ended in 2002.
