The BMW 2002 is often thought of as a forerunner of the modern sports sedan. This final-year example is finished in what appears to be Laguna Seca Blue over a blue cloth interior and is optioned with the desirable 4-speed manual transmission. The relatively spacious interior provides room for five occupants, and BMW’s venerable "M10" inline four-cylinder engine moves them smartly down the road. Additional modifications include removal of the front bumper, 14-inch BMW “basket-weave” wheels, and an aftermarket shift-knob. Offered at NO RESERVE, this 2002 is ready to be enjoyed "as-is" or undergo a full refurbishment.

This final-year 2002 was acquired by the seller in May 2021 and they have added approximately 1,500 of the 57,800 miles shown. It is believed the prior owner removed the front bumper and had the vehicle refinished in what appears to be Laguna Seca Blue. Additional modifications include a set of 14-inch BMW “basket-weave” style wheels and an aftermarket shift-knob.
The BMW 2002 was launched in 1968. Power was provided by BMW's "M10" 2.0L inline four-cylinder engine that developed 99 hp when equipped with a single carburetor. Three transmission options were offered, including the 4-speed manual featured here -- all driving the rear wheels. Series production ended in 1976.
