This Vanagon GL Syncro was reportedly acquired by the selling dealer in July 2023 from its original owner, who drove the vehicle over 425,000 miles during the past 36 years. This van is said to have been kept in Pennsylvania by the original owner, which appears to be corroborated in the included clean Carfax history report. Finished in metallic gold over beige upholstery, the selling dealer claims that this Vanagon was repainted in 2006.
Power comes from a correct-replacement 2.1-liter flat-four engine that is believed to have approximately 120,000 miles on it, which is paired with a factory 4-speed manual gearbox and Syncro four-wheel-drive. Modifications are limited to 15" Volkswagen wheels, a front brush guard, metal rear bumper with integrated towing receiver, removed rear window wiper, and an added digital clock. Factory owner’s manuals, a 1987 Vanagon dealership brochure, and a Consumer Reports Auto Price Service build sheet dated March 5, 1987 accompany the sale.
