2004 Porsche

911 GT3

What We Like

The 996-chassis 911 GT3 is particularly desirable due to being one of the purest versions of the model thanks to a low curb weight, manual gearbox, and the absence of driver assistance systems. Compared to the standard 996 Carrera, the GT3 features a more powerful, higher-revving flat-six engine designed by Hans Mezger, a sharper chassis setup, larger brakes, and a myriad of additional improvements. This particular 2004 GT3 shows approximately 60,700 miles and comes with service records since 2008. Add a few RS-flavor upgrades, and this GT3 becomes a compelling option for someone wanting a truly analog driving experience. The seller owns a highly-reputable Porsche service facility, which has maintained the car since 2013, and is representing this car for his client.

Seller Information

Vehicle History & Overview

According to the included Carfax report, this GT3 was sold new in Florida and spent time in South Carolina and Colorado prior to moving to California in 2013, when the seller sourced the car for its current owner. The seller owns a Porsche service center in the San Francisco Bay Area, and has maintained the vehicle for the current owner since 2013. The current owner has reportedly added less than 4,000 miles and is including some of the removed factory parts with the car. The red graphics, red mirror covers, and red-painted factory wheels are an homage to the 996-chassis GT3 RS that was never sold in the US.

The 996-chassis was produced from 1999 – 2005 and brought the US market its first taste of the GT3 in 2004. Being the lightest and smallest of all US-bound GT3s and not having Porsche Stability Management, this version is lauded by many as the purest form of the GT3. Power comes from a 3.6-liter “Mezger” flat-six developing 385 horsepower, driving the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip-differential. GT3s are visually distinguished via a revised front bumper and matching rear wing.
