1962 Porsche

356B T6 Sunroof Coupe

What We Like

Some color combinations just work well together. Such is the case with the Oslo Blue over Red Leatherette combination seen on this 356B sunroof coupe. Reportedly under single ownership for more than 40 years, this 356 is believed to have been parked sometime in the 1980s. This car was optioned with the aforementioned electric sunroof and modifications appear to be limited to reupholstering the seats in red leatherette, thereby removing the factory corduroy inserts. Offered at NO RESERVE, this 356 is ready for its next owner to restore and revive it to its former glory, allowing the special color combination to shine brightly once again.

Vehicle History & Overview

According to the included Kardex document, this 356B was built on January 15, 1962 and delivered in the striking color combination of Oslo Blue over Red Leatherette with corduroy inserts. The prior owner reportedly acquired the car in 1977 and kept it until the selling dealer purchased the car in February 2022 as a non-running project. The car was rear-ended sometime in the late 1970s and was subsequently driven for many years unrepaired. Sometime in the 1980s the car was parked in a barn and eventually found its way into the garage the selling dealer acquired it from.

Porsche's 356 was originally launched in 1948, with the B-series seen here arriving in 1959. In 1962 Porsche launched the “T6” variant of the 356B. Various improvements were made over earlier models, but the most noticeable were twin grilles on the engine lid, passenger front fender-mount fuel filler, and a larger rear window for the coupe. Luxury touches such as the uncommon electric sunroof fitted to this car were options. Series production of the 356 ended in May 1966.
