Sometimes a clean-sheet design is required to truly advance. This MG A Roadster, so named for being the “first of a new line,” exemplifies this concept with curvaceous bodywork over a newly-designed chassis and engine. This example reportedly benefits from a re-spray in red and features the desirable factory wire-spoke knock-off wheels. Modifications include a 1,600cc inline four-cylinder engine and an all-aluminum radiator. This classically styled British sports-car is ready to offer the wind-in-your-hair involvement so many of us envision with a car of this type. Will you be the next owner to partake in the experience?

This MG A Roadster was acquired in January 2023 by the selling dealer, who has since added approximately 300 of the 45,600 miles shown. This Roadster reportedly benefits from a re-spray around 2012 and is equipped with a larger 1,600cc Mark II engine mated to the factory 4-speed manual transmission. Desirable factory equipment includes 15" wire-spoke knock-off wheels. The knock-off tool, jack, and two keys are included.
The MG A was launched in 1955 and received its name as a result of being the “first of a new line” of cars since it was so different from anything prior. The use of the BMC B-series engine allowed for the lower hood line, helping create the swooping the bodywork that defines the A. Lockheed hydraulic drum brakes were standard all around, which can be seen behind the optional wire-spoke wheels on this MG A. Series production of the MG A ended in 1962.
