1980 Triumph

TR8 Convertible 5-Speed

What We Like

Wedge-styling was a hallmark of European sports cars in the late 1970s-1980s, and this Triumph TR8 offered at NO RESERVE takes things a bit further with pop-up headlights and an eye-catching color combination. Not only is the TR8 striking in appearance, it also sounds fantastic with a naturally-aspirated V8 under the hood. This example retains its factory engine paired to a later-model transmission with taller gearing, and has been upgraded with a roll bar, updated stereo, Holley carburetor, black decal kit, and more. It's quite rare to see any TR8 on the road today, let alone one in bright yellow--if you're searching for a British roadster that is sure to turn heads, look no further!

Seller Information

Vehicle History & Overview

This 1980 Triumph TR8 Convertible was built in July 1980 finished in Poseidon Green Metallic (HAF) with Golden Tan upholstery (RAG) according to its factory data plate. The car was repainted yellow in 2021, and the interior has been re-trimmed in black vinyl according to the selling dealer, who acquired it in March 2024 and has added approximately 150 miles since.

Power comes from a factory naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V8 paired with a 1981-model TR8 five-speed manual gearbox, which features a taller fifth gear than the original 1980 gearbox. Additional modifications include a Holley carburetor, roll bar, updated stereo, and more as described in the listing below.

This TR8 is now offered at NO RESERVE in Maryland with a tonneau cover, soft top boot, spare wheel/tire assembly, jack, two keys, and a clean West Virginia title.
