1980 Honda

CB750F Super Sport

What We Like

"It's only original once" is a common saying amongst enthusiasts. This Honda CB750F shows 27k miles, is believed to be substantially original, and wears its patina proudly. The selling dealer states the battery and tires were replaced in preparation for the sale and is including a 2018 service document showing the carburetors were rebuilt, fuel tank resealed, and the spark plugs and choke cable were replaced. The seat was also reportedly reupholstered under prior ownership. Being full of character and said to be mechanically sound, this NO RESERVE CB750F is the just the ticket for someone looking to experience 1980s sport-bike nirvana.

Vehicle History & Overview

The selling dealer acquired this Honda CB750F in June 2022 and has added less than 10 of the 27k-miles shown. As discussed in the included video shown below, this CB750F is believed to be substantially original -- other than a reupholstered seat, aftermarket mirrors, and an aftermarket 4-into-1 exhaust system. A crack in the left fairing and paint imperfections are noted and shown in the main gallery. The selling dealer reports having replaced the battery and tires in preparation for the sale.

By the late 1970s Honda was facing increased competition in the sport-bike arena. In response, they launched the CB750F in 1979 with a new dual overhead cam cylinder-head engine developing 77 horsepower. The air-cooled DOHC engine featured four valves per cylinder. The 1980 model year saw improved rear Showa shocks, a more rigid frame, and a reinforced swing arm. The CB750F Super Sport was reportedly capable of a 12-second quarter mile and a top speed of 120 mph.
