The included Carfax report shows this M3 was delivered to its first, Kansas-based owner on July 26, 2004. That owner kept the vehicle for nearly 12 years, and some service history from that ownership is shown on the Carfax report. The seller, an avid BMW M3 enthusiast, acquired the vehicle in May 2016 to complement his collection of M3s. Per the seller, the vehicle has been kept in a climate-controlled storage facility during his ownership, and he had a pre-purchase inspection and oil change performed in preparation for the sale.

The E46-chassis M3 made its US debut in 2001, and many felt the car was a return-to-form for BMW's multitalented sports coupe. Flared fenders and an aggressive stance were paired with a wide variety of colors, including the uncommon Phoenix Yellow Metallic seen here. Performance is provided by a 333 horsepower, S54 3.2L inline-six engine revving to over 8,000 rpm. For the first time, a 6-Speed SMG automated manual gearbox was offered.
