Vehicle History & Overview

This Scirocco was reportedly owned by Tim Hildabrand, founder of legendary Volkswagen tuner New Dimensions Turbo Systems. The vehicle was sold in October 2014 and is believed to have been refurbished to its current condition while residing in Florida. The seller acquired the vehicle in January 2021 and has added less than 100 miles. In addition to the Callaway Cars Stage 2 turbo kit, extensive modifications have been performed under prior ownership and are detailed in the Modifications section below.

The Volkswagen Scirocco was released to the US market in 1975. The chassis was a revised and upgraded version of the Mk1 Golf platform with model-specific styling and interiors. Enthusiasts loved the Scirocco’s styling and capable chassis, and the car achieved modest success in the US market. Series production ended in 1988.

One area where the Scirocco needed help was horsepower. Legendary tuner Callaway Cars offered turbocharger kits that brought the power output in line with the already-capable chassis. Via upgraded internal engine components and further tuning, New Dimensions was able to achieve additional power gains.
