1986 Mercedes-Benz

560SL

What We Like

To this day, the Mercedes-Benz R107 SL-series remains an icon of motoring elegance. This 92k-mile 560SL is finished in uncommon Anthracite Grey Metallic with a black soft-top over Palomino leather and includes a color-matched hardtop. Long-term New York registration since 1993 is shown on the included Carfax report. Modifications appear to be limited to chrome wheel-arch trim and a Kenwood stereo. This turnkey 560SL offers the chance for its next owner to experience classic 1980s German motoring in style.

Vehicle History & Overview

The included Carfax report starts in June 1992 and shows registration in Florida and New York. The selling dealer acquired this 560SL in October 2022 and has added less than 100 of the 93,500 miles shown. This 560SL is finished in uncommon Anthracite Grey Metallic and comes with a color-matched hardtop. Modifications are believed to be limited to chrome wheel-arch trim and a Kenwood stereo.

The R107-chassis SL-series made its North American debut in 1972, with the 560SL arriving in 1986. Featuring a 5.5L V8 developing 227 horsepower and 287 lb-ft of torque paired with a 4-speed automatic, the 560SL was capable of 0-60 mph in less than 7.0 seconds and could continue on to nearly 150 mph. Amenities included automatic climate control, leather and wood trim, power windows and mirrors, and an outside temperature gauge. A body-color removable hardtop was offered, as seen on this example.
