In many parts of the world scooters are the primary mode of transportation, with the Vespa brand being one of the most well-known. This P125X model was reportedly kept in road-going operational condition by its prior owner, who is said to have owned it for a number of years. Being part of the “new line” released in 1977, this Vespa features additional storage, a more comfortable saddle, and improved stability thanks to redesigned front and rear suspension. Vespa claimed that the air-cooled single-cylinder engine can propel this little runabout to over 53 mph--respectable even by modern standards. A new owner is all that’s needed to help this NO RESERVE Vespa continue its legacy!

The Vespa PX launched in 1977 as a new model line. Improvements included revised front and rear suspension to offer better stability, increased storage capacity, and a more comfortable polyurethane saddle. Two engines were offered initially, including the air-cooled 123cc two-stroke single-cylinder version seen here that developed 8 horsepower. A 4-speed manual transmission and direct-drive setup sent power to the rear wheel. Front and rear drum brakes provided stopping power. The quoted top speed was 86 kilometers per hour. Series production of the P125X ended in 1981.
