Vehicle History & Overview
The seller acquired this VW Beetle-based EMPI dune buggy in June 2019 and set about having the vehicle re-sprayed in red with black accents. Reportedly this buggy was originally built as a demonstrator vehicle to promote EMPI’s kits and started life in California before being moved to Florida following the seller’s acquisition. Details of the EMPI kit include a front trunk, a fold-down front windshield, and exposed pop-rivets and screws to provide a more industrial appearance. Modifications over the original kit include a transmission and axles from a VW Bus that offer a wider rear track and taillights from a Mustang. Receipts and records since 2019 are included along with a build-book.
