The selling dealer reports that this Austin-Healey is believed to have stayed in the greater Philadelphia area from new through 2022, and reportedly remained with its prior owner for more than 55 years. Per the included BMIHT certificate showcased in the Servicing & Documentation section below, the car left the factory in November 1959 finished in Healey Blue with a blue soft top and blue upholstery. Modifications appear to be limited to a color-change from blue to white, period-correct side-exit exhaust, and an AM/FM radio.
The Austin-Healey 3000 was launched in 1959 as the successor to the much-loved 100-6. The car featured a new 3.0L inline-six-cylinder engine and an upgraded braking system featuring front disc-brakes. Two variants were offered, the 2+2 BT7 and the two-seater BN7, as featured here. Reportedly more than 91% of these cars were exported to the North American market. Series production ended in 1967.
