2003 BMW

M5 Dinan-Tuned

What We Like

The BMW M5 has always been a true "wolf in sheep's clothing," and many enthusiasts agree that this ethos was most skillfully executed in the E39-generation. This final-year 67k-mile example features Dinan Stage 5 engine tuning along with a host of additional Dinan performance upgrades, which reportedly results in 470 horsepower from its naturally-aspirated S62 4.9L V8. Nearly $25,000 in service receipts since 2009 are included, and the car remained registered in California from new until 2021. As a 2003 model, this car features updated styling and is finished in classic Titanium Silver over black leather. This M5 is ready to carry its next owners quickly and confidently with some additional grunt from Dinan.

Vehicle History & Overview

Per the included Carfax report this M5 was sold to its first, California-based owner in June 2003. Niello BMW of Elk Grove, California serviced the vehicle until 2007 when the second, California-based owner purchased it. The second owner kept the vehicle for more than 13 years before selling it to a Utah-based family member in 2021. The vehicle is on consignment through the selling dealer. Service records since 2009 totaling over $24,900 are included along with two main keys/remotes, two valet keys, owner’s manuals, and factory tool kit.

The E39-chassis BMW M5 was launched in late 1998 and first appeared on US shores for MY2000. The car was widely heralded for its fantastic, naturally aspirated 4.9L V8 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, and athletic rear-wheel-drive chassis. In stock form the 4.9L V8 engine developed 394 horsepower when new and belted out a glorious sound from its quad-tipped exhaust. Series production ended in 2003.

The name Dinan is synonymous with ultra-fast versions of BMWs. This example features Dinan's Stage 5 software tuning, carbon fiber high-flow intakes, larger mass air flow meter housings, throttle bodies/velocity stacks, a cat-back exhaust system with laser-etched quad tips, an aluminum strut tower brace, 18-inch alloy wheels, and Stage 5 software. The car reportedly develops an impressive 470 horsepower.
