The Porsche 356 is celebrated by enthusiasts all over the world, and remains a popular choice for collecting, driving, motorsports, and so much more. This 1600 Super was reportedly purchased by the seller from its second owner in January 2020, and is described as a low-mile, largely stock car finished in its factory colors of Ivory White over Red. Many 356s today have been substantially modified, but this 1600 Super appears to be an honest example ready to be enjoyed by its next caretaker!

This 1960 Porsche 356B 1600 Super is finished in Ivory White over red upholstery and was reportedly sold new in the Bay Area, California. It remained in the Bay Area until the second owner purchased the car in 1968 and moved it to Missouri. In 1972, the second owner brought the car back to California. It was reportedly stored indoors until the seller purchased the car as the third owner in January 2020.
According to the seller, this car received rubberized undercarriage coating early in its life, and in 1971 at 10,463 miles the engine seized due to overheating as the coating was covering an air dam. The second owner chose to store the car in California without driving it for nearly 50 years, when the seller purchased it in January 2020. Once the seller took possession of the car, the engine was serviced, and less than one mile has been added since--the odometer still reads 10,463 miles, which the seller believes to be correct. It is currently registered in California as "non-operational" as the seller decided not to add miles to the odometer.
Per the seller, this 356 was repainted in its factory Ivory White years ago, while the interior has been left largely original. 1600 Super models came equipped with a 1.6-liter flat-four producing 75 horsepower when new, which is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox.
This 356 1600 Super is now offered with factory books and manuals, service receipts from July 1971 and 2022, a spare wheel/tire assembly, tool kit, some spare parts, three keys, and a clean California title in the seller's name.

A service receipt from July 29, 1971 at Bob Hindson Racing, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri is shown below with 10,463 miles noted on the odometer. This business appears to still be operating in 2024.
The Missouri license plate is noted as "EGM 615", which matches the number on the front license plate currently affixed to the car.
The seller states that this 356 was repainted in its factory Ivory White years ago. Per the seller, minor body work was completed in preparation including some filler to repair a dent. The repaint reportedly consisted of two coats of primer, a base coat, and clear coat.
The seller has provided photos of some known cosmetic flaws below, including:
A ding on the front portion of the roof and on the passenger door
Clear coat flaws due to buffing/polishing including some burns
Two paint runs on the engine lid
Two rips on the driver’s seat lower cushion
A crack in the rear-view mirror lens
Additionally, the seller states that the tires are likely from the 1960s and the brake shoes are believed to be original. For safety reasons, these should be replaced prior to driving.
