911 Turbo Coupe

What We Like

Few cars carry the mystique of a 1980s-era Porsche 911 Turbo, with its instantly-recognizable silhouette, wide bodywork, big horsepower, and iconic "whale-tail" rear spoiler. With just 16k miles and finished in classic black over tan leather, this near-stock 1987 911 Turbo Coupe is a prime example of Porsche's seminal sports car. Longtime California/Nevada ownership and a clean Carfax report add to this 930's appeal. Thanks to its high performance, even by today's standards, this 911 Turbo is ready to carry its next owner in rapid comfort with an attitude all its own.

Vehicle History & Overview

According to the included accident-free Carfax report, this 1987 911 Turbo spent time in California and Nevada before moving to Florida in 2018. The seller acquired the vehicle in April 2021, and has since added approximately five of the total 16,242 miles shown. According the seller, the vehicle is highly original and carries a numbers-matching engine and transmission. In addition, the seller states that the only modifications present are a Kenwood stereo and aftermarket speakers.

The 911 Turbo was initially launched in 1975 featuring its signature "whale-tail" rear spoiler, wider bodywork with matching Fuchs alloy wheels, and a turbocharged version of Porsche's flat-six engine. In 1978 engine displacement increased to 3.3L and an intercooler was added. After a five-year hiatus the 911 Turbo returned to US shores in 1986, developing 282 horsepower while meeting US emissions standards. Car And Driver magazine achieved a 0 - 60 time of 4.6 seconds in its 1986 test, which is still quick today.
