During their four years of ownership and as detailed in the Servicing & Documentation section, the seller spent more than $7,900 and had the engine rebuilt, braking system overhauled, new tires installed, and the suspension updated with Gaz coilovers. Other modifications include 12-inch polished moon-disc wheel covers, white-wall tire stickers, and Figaro Shop chassis braces.

Nissan debuted the Figaro concept in 1989, with series production occurring only for the 1991 model year. The Figaro is considered a fixed-profile convertible in that the upper side elements of the car are fixed-in-place, and the center fabric convertible top retracts. This top features a defroster-equipped glass rear window and stows in the trunk. Power is courtesy of a turbocharged 987cc inline-four-cylinder engine paired with a 3-speed automatic transaxle. The Figaro was offered in one of four colors, each representing a season. Due to demand greater than initial estimates, a little over 20,000 Figaros were reportedly produced.
