Seller Information

Vehicle History & Overview

The seller’s vision for this project was to create a vehicle evocative of the bodywork found on Yamaha’s Raptor quad and the well-known Meyers Manx, but with the practicality of a roof and doors. Utilizing a neglected 1968 Volkswagen Beetle donor-car, he created the vehicle you see here. It features an 1,835cc air-cooled flat-four and premium Hella headlights and fog-lights paired with LED taillights and help increase nighttime visibility. Build notes, receipts, and magazine features are included.

This unique vehicle is one of two in existence and has been featured multiple times in automotive magazines. While others had already created dune buggies from the humble Beetle, few if any had integrated a roof and doors. The seller, a professional clay modeler for more than 30 years, chose to include those attributes in his build. Although challenging to implement, the benefits of the roof are obvious thanks to the built-in rack. Front and rear storage compartments further increase practicality while modern Hella lighting offers greater versatility for usage day or night. The vehicle also retains rear seats to allow for the entire family to enjoy.
