Vehicle History & Overview

This European-spec 550 Maranello was imported to the US in April 2002. After it was federalized in 2004--likely including installation of a US-spec speedometer/odometer--the car stayed in Florida until its acquisition by a New Mexico dealer in 2009. In 2010 the vehicle was purchased by its current owner, a Pennsylvania enthusiast/collector. The owner drove and displayed the car often, netting an FCA Platinum Award at the 2018 Pennsylvania Concours d' Elegance. As of November 2021 the vehicle has resided with the selling dealership in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Desirable additions include Genuine Ferrari 3-piece Barchetta wheels and a Nouvalari exhaust system. Service records from 2010 are included along with the factory wheels and exhaust system.

Ferrari's 550 Maranello is the spritual successor to the 365 GTB/4 Daytona and was the first front-engined V12 road-car produced in more than 20 years. Elegant performance is the 550's strong suit. The car proved to be quieter and more comfortable than its 12-cylinder mid-engined predecessors while still offering solid handling capabilities due to its well sorted chassis. The Type F133A 5.5L V12 developed 485 horsepower and was paired with a gated 6-speed manual transaxle. Performance is exemplary even by today's standards with a quoted 4.4 second 0-60 mph time and top speed of 199 mph.

Imperfections

• Scraping on the underside of the front lip and front bumper

• Driver's door edge does have some areas that have been touched up

• Section of the black rear glass trim has been touched up

• Peppering on the bottom of the wheel arches on all 4 corners

• Passenger rear wheel has nick in the chrome

• Driver side map light switch inoperable
