Vehicle History & Overview

Although currently titled and located in Pennsylvania, this WRX STI was sold new in California and stayed there until the selling dealer acquired it in 2021, as shown in the included Carfax history report. Thorough mechanical servicing has been completed under the seller's care, as listed in the Servicing & Documentation section of this listing.

The long-awaited Subaru WRX was released onto US shores in 2002, with the factory hot-rod STI arriving for the 2004 model year. Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system was standard with an adjustable center differential to vary torque-split front/rear, while motivation came from a turbocharged and intercooled 2.5L flat-four developing 305 horsepower. Larger Brembo brakes and chassis/suspension improvements accompanied the increase in horsepower. All of this combined to create a fun-to-drive vehicle with serious performance and grip, which can still take the kids to school comfortably year-round.

Equipment

Despite being the road-going equivalent of a purpose-built rally car, the Impreza WRX STI came well-equipped with the following: 

• Intercooler sprayer 

• Adjustable height headlamps 

• Adjustable center differential (DCCD) 

• AM/FM/CD Stereo 

• Automatic climate control 

• STI-branded seats finished in blue Alcantara 

• Leather trimmed steering wheel & shift knob

Modifications

According to the seller, this WRX STI is stock aside from the following: 

• SPT-branded front strut-tower brace 

• Rear strut-tower brace (unbranded)

Servicing & Documentation

• The seller states that four new 225/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R tires will be installed prior to this auction ending.

• This WRX STI comes with service records under the seller's ownership, the most recent of which is shown in the gallery below. Services include:

• November 2021 - Passed a Pennsylvania state safety and emissions inspection.

• September 2021 - Exhaust system was replaced.

• September 2021 - Undercarriage dry-ice cleaned at Leading Edge Autosport.

• August 2021 - Rafferty Subaru of Newtown Square, PA completed regular maintenance, replaced the timing belt, and fitted new OEM front and rear stabilizer bars.

Imperfections

• According to the seller, the A-pillar has been repaired to fix a ding that could not be PDR'd.

• Per the seller, the front bumper has been repainted to correct previous peppering/road rash.

• Some paint chips and other smaller flaws are shown in the gallery below, including a scratch/gouge in the rear bumper. The main photo gallery above provides additional photos of these flaws.
