Custom Italian coachwork defined mid-20th Century automotive style and elegance. This very rare (one of only five or six) 1956 Fiat 1100TV Coupe penned by Michelotti and built by Vignale presents a chance to experience that era. As a “survivor,” this vehicle commands additional attention, due in no small part to increased demand for un-restored classics. Fiat factory Classiche Certification, a numbers-matching drivetrain, extensive documentation, original tool kit, and long-term ownership history make this example even more appealing. A 2018 mechanical refurbishment ensures its roadworthiness, as evidenced by its participation in 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and accompanying 75-mile Tour d’Elegance. Here is a chance to own a vehicle of uncommon provenance and originality.

Sold new in 1956, this five-owner vehicle stayed in Genoa, Italy until 2017. The third owner had possession for nearly 60 years! The seller and fifth owner bought the car in February 2018 and had mechanical repairs performed to ensure road-worthiness. Subsequently, several hundred kilometers were added on Italian and French Riviera motorways before the vehicle was shipped to the 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California. Fiat has granted Classiche Certification and this automobile carries known owner history from new. The original tool kit, jack, coachwork sketches from the original designer, and owner's manual are all present.
The Fiat 1100 was produced in various styles from 1953 - 1969. The TV, short for Turismo Veloce, was launched in 1953 as a more sport oriented version. Unique styling, such as the single center-mounted fog-lamp, and more power accompanied other mechanical enhancements. The 1100 TV upheld its sporting intentions with 1954 and 1955 class wins in the Mille Miglia rally, among others. Carrozzeria Vignale directed Giovanni Michelotti to pen coachwork fitted to just five or six cars that debuted at the 1956 Torino Motor Show, pictures of which are in the gallery.
